Born in the Portuguese Azores Islands, Dr. Amanda J Drake moved to Clovis, NM as a military child. A graduate of Clovis High, she moved to Germany for almost three years following junior college before returning to the High Plains. Doctor Drake earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Eastern New Mexico University, graduating Suma Cum Laude. She received her DVM in 2014 from Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Science. Following graduation, she moved back to the High Plains where she has since been working in general practice.

She is certified in Veterinary Medical Acupuncture, has experience in laser therapy, and is currently pursuing certification in canine rehabilitation. Relocating to Amarillo allows her to stay in her beloved High Plains while opening new opportunities.

Dr.Drake and her husband Lin have 4 dogs, Zoey the Rat Terrier, SnowPeaz the Dachshund, Jemma and Munchi the chihuahua mixes; and 5 cats: Tabitha, Smokey, Queso Fries, Charlie Tots and Amelia.
