Wick Culp D.V.M.
|
Wick Culp, DVM is the owner and operator of Animal Medical Center since 1983. He grew up in Happy, Texas and moved to Amarillo in 1976. He attended Happy High School, WTSU and Texas A & M University. Dr. Culp's hobbies include golf, gardening and cooking. He is a member of the Texas Veterinary Medical Association, American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Animal Hospital Association, and the Men's Golf Association. Dr. Culp and his wife, Janet have one daughter, Brittney, who is a Surgical Resident at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas. They have 3 greyhounds who are also blood donors for the clinic, one Italian Greyhound and 1 cat.
Dr. Culp says that the best thing about being the owner of Animal Medical Center is taking care of pets whose owners sincerely look at them as an important part of their family. Also working with people at the clinic who sacrifice to take care of people's pets as if they were their own is very rewarding.

Laveta Bryan D.V.M.

Laveta Bryan, DVM joined the staff of Animal Medical Center in 1988. She moved to Amarillo in 1960 and grew up here. She attended Amarillo High School, Amarillo College, WTSU, TTU, UTSA, and Texas A & M. Her hobbies include agility dog showing and scuba diving and she is a member of Amarillo Obedience Training Club. She has 7 pets and no children. Dr. Bryan lives in the country with many dogs and cats and the occasional stray buffalo. Dr. Bryan says that the best thing about working at Animal Medical Center is the variety of challenging cases that she sees.

Dai McWhorter D.V.M.

Dai McWhorter, DVM, joined the staff of Animal Medical Center in May of1997. She was born in Nashville, Tennessee then moved to Bedford, Texas at age nine, and lived there until she attended college. She moved to Amarillo in May of 1997. Dr. McWhorter earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A & M in 1994 and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A & M in 1997. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the High Plains Veterinary Medical Association and the Texas Veterinary Medical Association.
Dr. McWhorter married fellow Aggie, Kelly McWhorter, in June of 1997. Some of her hobbies include singing and gardening. She has two sons, two dogs and one cat. Dr. McWhorter says that she always wanted to be a veterinarian and she is still in love with her job. Jessica Shumaker D.V.M.

Dr. Jessica Shumaker joined the staff of Animal Medical Center in July 2007, as an associate veterinarian. Dr. Shumaker was born in Hattiesburg, MS and attended Prentiss Christian School, and Mississippi State University where she got a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science as well as her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. She enjoys reading, spending time with family and vacations on the beach. She says that the best thing about working at AMC is the high standard of care we provide for the patients.

Natalie Harrison D.V.M.

Dr. Natalie Harrison joined the staff of Animal Medical Center in 2003 as an associate veterinarian. She was born and raised in Amarillo, attended Caprock High, undergrad at WTAMU, DVM at A&M in 2003. Her personal Interests are cooking, gardening, travel, music, reading. Her Veterinary interests are cytology and internal medicine. She has several pets: 3 schnauzers, 2 lab mixes, 1 silly great dane and 4 cats. Dr. Harrison says the best thing about AMC: high quality of medicine and care for our clients and their pets.
